Chris qualified at Newcastle upon Tyne University in 1989 with second class honours and worked for 2 years in a very busy private and NHS practice in the south of England 'learning his trade'. He had a fabulous 12 months in 2001 backpacking around the world including buying a combi VW campervan and driving it around Australia, overland trip to Tibet, and a 3 month truck trip around South America.
On return Chris worked for two years in Ballymena before emigrating to Australia for 5 years. He worked in private practice in the Gold Coast but moved back to Northern Ireland with three new children in 1999.
This is when he 'buckled down' and joined Robert Craig at the Gentle Touch in Magherafelt. To carry out the cosmetic dentistry he had experienced in Australia to a high standard, he did a part time 2 year Certificate of Restorative dentistry course at the prestigious Eastmann Postgarduate University in London flying 38 times in two years.
Chris then did his initial implant training at the Nova South Eastern University in Fort Lauderdale USA in 2003 and followed this by attending an advanced surgical course in Munich 2006. He has attending numerous courses and conferences on both cosmetic dentistry and implants since in Paris, Madrid, Barcelona, Gothenburg, London and Upperlands, where Robert and I ran a restorative course for referring dentists in 2012.
He finds the purchase of the CT scanner in 2007 as an invaluable tool to allow him to provide implants in a safe and predictable manner to the patients of Mid Ulster. Chris is married with 3 teenage children and lives in Ballymena.
